A member of the citrus fruit family, pomelos are the same size as a large grapefruit but have a lime-green coloured skin. They have a thin skin and a thick rind with a pointed top and a rounded bottom. Pomelos have a similar flavour to a grapefruit although they are slightly sweeter and juicier and have a spicy tang.
Uses: Pomelos are usually eaten raw - serve for breakfast as an alternative to grapefruit or chop the flesh and add to fruit salads or natural yogurt.
To store: Keep in the fridge for up to 1 week.
To prepare: Halve and remove the thick layer of pith and slice into segments.
